We feel
that it is important to help children to develop a positive attitude
to mathematics so that they will enjoy mathematical experiences and
be able to apply their knowledge and skills to solving problems in
everyday life situations. We follow the National Numeracy
Strategy and children are encouraged to understand and use a variety
of strategies to solve computational and other problems. |

A variety
of schemes are used throughout the school. It is our belief
that mathematics is best learnt through practical experience,
discussion and practice. Throughout the primary age range,
there is an emphasis on developing mental strategies, problem
solving, numerical games and investigative activities. |
