PHYSICAL
EDUCATION ![](images/pe02656_.gif) |
|
|
|
|
|
We
aim to give the children a broad and balanced programme of physical
education. All pupils are given the opportunity to develop
skills in the six areas of physical education:- games, gymnastics,
dance, athletics, outdoor and adventurous activities and swimming.
The school considers
that a positive attitude towards a healthy lifestyle will benefit
each individual child. It is the school's aim to ensure that
all children experience a level of proficiency that is their
'personal best'.
Each year the pupils
in year 6 are invited to spend 5 days at an Outdoor Activity Centre
with the other year 6 children in the Diamond Cluster of 3 small
schools.
We also hold a
Cluster games day for Y5 & Y6. |

|
|
This area
of the curriculum gives our children the knowledge, skills and
understanding they need to lead confident, healthy, independent
lives and encourages them to become informed, active and responsible
citizens.
A wide range of
activities and experiences are introduced. |

Sex
Education |
|
|
|
|
|
It is the
school policy due to the wide age range in the KS2 class no formal
sex education will be required to be delivered by the staff at the
school.
However, staff have
agreed they will always answer questions posed by pupils concerning
such matters as honestly and frankly as possible, taking into
account the age, ability and maturity of the child concerned.
Parents of Y6
children will be approached and asked if they would like the School
Nurse to talk to the boys and girls about these matters and to show
them an appropriate video. Parents are permitted to see the
video first. The nurse will come into school and talk to the
Y6 children and give them the opportunity for discussion and
questions. |
