School Sign
Little Acorns

Designed and created

by Ian Naylor

Wood

It is carved from the wood of an oak tree

Sycamore Seed

Around the sign is a large sycamore seed with the face of a child made from copper.

The Valley

The sign shows the river valley for the Valley School

The River

The river runs through the sign as it runs through the village.

It is in the shape of a tick like we have at school

Acorns

The letters

The letters painted on the word 'primary' are the primary  colours  of red, blue and yellow.

The black and copper letters represent the copper and coal once found in the valley.

Acorns are the seeds of the oak tree which is our school badge.

We are the little acorns in the school who grow into oak trees.

The empty shell represents the children who have left the school.
